Underground tanks are becoming more and more of a hot topic.  If it is active, how long will it last?  If it is abandoned, is there a problem?  The costs associated with removing the tank and replacing it with a new tank can run into the thousands.  Now, there is help for Homeowners.

The State of  New Jersey wants to encourage all Homeowners to remove their underground tanks.  The State, through the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has implemented a new Grant program.  If a Homeowner qualifies, and most do, the State will reimburse up to $3000 in tank removal charges and in installation charges.

So, whether the tank is no longer in use or s actively heating your home, there is financial help.  The qualifications are quite liberal.

  • An annual taxable income of up to $250,000.
  • A net worth that does not exceed $500,000 (this excludes your primary residence and pension).
  • More than 51% of your income is spent on any and all living expenses.
  • The underground tank must be removed by a NJDEP Certified Firm ( like Lawes!!!)

Lawes can assist you with the completing of the forms and answer any questions. We are here to help you!!
